Facing the Dragon: Confronting Personal and Spiritual Grandiosity

"If you would understand the deepest roots of terrorism, greed, and religious fanaticism, read Facing the Dragon. But be forewarned: you may find some offshoots in your own garden."
June Singer
Jungian analyst, author of Boundaries of the Soul

"I like this book very much. It extends the work of Kohut and others on grandiosity, that mysterious overestimation of ourselves that often disturbs our childhood. If this grandiosity is quashed too early, it is a disaster. If it is not disciplined at all, it is equally damaging. The question is what to do with the God energy in a time of secularism. Moore gives frightening answers to questions people haven't even begun to ask. This is a brave and important book."
Robert Bly
Author of Iron John, The Sibling Story Society
and The Insatiable Soul

Men and the Quest:
From Wasteland to Wonder

A Five-Day Mythodrama Adventure for Men
at the Findhorn Foundation, Scotland

Saturday - Thursday, July 5 - 10, 2008

Each man's life is lived on the edge between going out into the world and going deeper inside, between climbing the ladder of spirit and wandering the dark roads of the soul. The myth of Parzival is an archetypal story that contains ancient wisdom of the need for and the process of male initiation. On his path from the wasteland to a sense of wonder he is initiated into the deep masculine potentials of King, Warrior, Magician and Lover.

Mythodrama is an exciting new form of experiential learning drawing on the shamanic origins of theatre to enable participants to live through initiatory stories and to personally embody new found knowledge in a powerful and memorable way. This highly experiential workshop will prove particularly interesting and valuable for teachers, youth and probation works, and men wishing to engage youth in meaningful and creative ways.
